How Many Children Is Too Many

In our world of today how many children do you think is too many? With all the problems that is happening in our country and with all the financial companies that have lost almost all of their money and have had to ask the government to help them out, do you really need to have so many children that you can't meet your expenses?

If this were to happen and the systems that helped you with your food stamps and all of your living expenses were to be taken away because of too many people in the system and not enough money to go around, do you think that the government is going to bail them out? The answer to that question is no. You will be left to defend yourself with all the places wanting their money. If you have all these kids you would not be able to pay them or buy enough food to go around or even enough to last a week.

I think that the right number of children that a family should have is no more than three. Some people won't agree on this number, and they might go with one or maybe two. Some parents will keep having kids because they don't want to have all girls or all boys. Sometimes you will find families that may have two girls and when asked why they are having another one, they will come right out and tell you that they are having this child because they are trying to have a boy and not because they need another child.

Some families will have a lot of kids for the simple reason that their parents had ten or more. Another reason is that maybe their religion is against birth control. Then your doctor might not let you say when you have had enough, and you want to have your tubes tied. When I had my last child in 1983 my doctor told me that I could have my tubes tied because I had three children and was over 21 or 25.

It was so long ago that I can't remember. Most of the doctors today are telling the young girls that they can't have their tubes tied until they are 25. Most girls will have this many before they hit that age. We really need to make our young people understand that having too many children just isn't the thing to do.
